Several Dallas-Fort Worth school districts announced school closures Jan. 26 ahead of an arctic winter storm that will sweep the state this weekend.<\/p>\n
What residents need to know<\/p>\n
As of Jan. 24, the following school districts and colleges have announced that they will be closed Monday:<\/p>\n
Allen ISDCarroll ISDCelina ISDCollin CollegeDenton ISDFrisco ISDGrapevine-Colleyville ISDKeller ISDMcKinney ISDNorthwest ISDPlano ISDProsper ISDRichardson ISDTarrant County CollegeMost school districts have also noted after school activities are cancelled and district officials will continue to monitor the weather to provide updates regarding closures Jan. 27.<\/p>\n
What\u2019s happening?<\/p>\n
According to the National Weather Service<\/a>, Winter Storm Fern is expected<\/a> to move through the region starting Jan. 24 and bring freezing temperatures through Jan. 27.
