Halloween is right around the corner. And if you’re thinking of skipping the basic pumpkin outfit this year, we’ve got you. Austin Halloween is all about humor, local nods, and a little extra spice.

From roadside signage to tequila brands, here’s how to flex your Halloween creativity using stuff you probably already have lying around.

Black tee, white letters (paint or tape) and voilà: you’re an iconic Austin meme. Optional: hold a mini margarita for authenticity.

These limited-edition outfits channel Pantalones’ kick. Matthew McConaughey’s tequila brand is offering the costume individually for $34.99 or bundled with a bottle for $74.99 while supplies last.

Grab a red shirt, smear some safe-for-skin paint or sticker dots and sprinkle with glitter for a sweet-and-spicy snack look. Everyone will want you on their rims. Bonus points if you carry a little bottle of real chamoy for dramatic effect.

Bandana, braids, faded jeans and a guitar (or even a cardboard one). Add a look of eternal chill and you’re halfway there.

Bell-bottoms, fringe, round sunglasses and a tie-dye tee. Sing like you’re at the Armadillo World Headquarters and you’ve got the look.

Channel the Queen of Tejano with a sparkly purple jumpsuit (or anything sequined), a red lip and a microphone. Add big 90s curls and belt out “Bidi Bidi Bom Bom” like you’re headlining RodeoHouston.

White shirt, pink pants, a bowl cut styled blonde wig and that famously chill “alright, alright, alright” attitude.

All black outfit, black eyeliner, maybe a feathered hat if you’re fancy and flail your wings dramatically at anyone with food. Bonus: squawk at people.

Silver or gray top and pants, tape a logo on your chest and put on a round hat and fake cameras meant to detect nearby traffic.

Gray or black clothes, white tape for lane lines and a bike helmet with two horns if you’re feeling literal. Hold a tiny cardboard that indicates which evil highway you are (so many to pick from).

Old plaid shirt, jeans, boots and a toy chainsaw. Smudged makeup optional but highly recommended. Warning: might scare your neighbors more than intended.

Halloween is right around the corner.
