{"id":137902,"date":"2026-01-25T22:28:08","date_gmt":"2026-01-25T22:28:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/137902\/"},"modified":"2026-01-25T22:28:08","modified_gmt":"2026-01-25T22:28:08","slug":"dallas-fort-worth-under-extreme-cold-warning-until-tuesday-morning","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/137902\/","title":{"rendered":"Dallas-Fort Worth under Extreme Cold Warning until Tuesday morning"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex is under an Extreme Cold Warning from Sunday night until 9 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.weather.gov\/fwd\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">National Weather Service<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>What&#8217;s happening<\/p>\n<p>Temperature highs are estimated to remain in the 20s with the lows in the teens and single digits through Tuesday morning, according to the NWS&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.weather.gov\/fwd\/office\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Fort Worth\/Dallas office<\/a>. Wind chills will range from -10 to 0 degrees Monday morning in DFW.<\/p>\n<p>Wind chill values will make &#8220;Feels Like&#8221; temps as cold as -10 degrees with low temperatures ranging from -1 to 14 degrees across North Texas, per the NWS. The extreme temperatures create hazards for hypothermia and frozen pipes, according to the weather service.<\/p>\n<p>Looking ahead<\/p>\n<p>Minor road improvements are expected on Monday from sunny skies, but the NWS warns temperatures will not raise above freezing and any slushy roads will refreeze overnight.<\/p>\n<p>Significant road improvement is not expected until Tuesday afternoon as all areas climb above freezing.
