{"id":138389,"date":"2026-01-26T13:31:57","date_gmt":"2026-01-26T13:31:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/138389\/"},"modified":"2026-01-26T13:31:57","modified_gmt":"2026-01-26T13:31:57","slug":"att-helps-customers-stay-connected-during-winter-storm-nbc-5-dallas-fort-worth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/138389\/","title":{"rendered":"AT&#038;T helps customers stay connected during winter storm \u2013 NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>AT&amp;T said it has prepped all week to do what it can to help its customers maintain service during the winter storm.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s so widespread, coming all the way from Texas up to Virginia,&#8221; Incident Commander Ken Smith said. &#8220;We have personnel and assets spread out so that we can respond fast.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Smith told NBC 5 they&#8217;re most concerned about ice on power lines impacting service areas.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If you get that ice on the power lines and trees that bring that power down, that&#8217;s going to impact our network,&#8221; Smith said. &#8220;<\/p>\n<p>According to Smith, AT&amp;T has brought in hundreds of generators to the Dallas area alone to proactively prepare for what could come. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith what we do, I get emotional,&#8221; Smith said. &#8220;We do care about our customers\u2026when we roll into an area, whether it\u2019s a winter storm, or like in Kerrville, as an example, supporting our public safety, that\u2019s an important aspect of what we do.
