Say it ain\u2019t so, George!<\/p>\n

San Antonio area-native George Strait has added two more Texas concerts to his 2026 itinerary. And, sorry, Alamo City fans, they\u2019re both in Austin. <\/p>\n

The multi-platinum-selling country music legend will perform Thursday, April 9, and Saturday, April 11, at the state capital\u2019s Moody Center with William Beckmann opening. Those shows are in addition to dates on Friday, April 24, and Saturday, April 25, the recent Kennedy Center honoree has booked at Lubbock\u2019s Jones AT&T Stadium with Miranda Lambert opening. <\/p>\n

The upcoming dates will be Strait\u2019s first full-scale Texas concerts since his 2024 performance at College Station\u2019s Kyle Field, which drew 110,905 fans and set a new record<\/a> for the biggest ticketed show in U.S. history. His only other Lone Star State gig during that time a high-dollar benefit gala<\/a> last summer for Texas Hill Country flood relief.<\/p>\n

Artist presale tickets for the two Austin dates become available at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 26, for those who sign up via the event website<\/a>. Venue presale begins at noon Monday at noon via Ticketmaster<\/a> for those who enter the code \u201cTAKEMETOTEXAS.\u201d<\/p>\n

Strait, who grew up in the San Antonio bedroom community of Pearsall, became one of country music\u2019s biggest hitmakers with a string of now-classic tunes including \u201cAmarillo by Morning\u201d and \u201cAll My Ex\u2019s Live in Texas.\u201d\u00a0He holds the RIAA\u00a0record for most certified albums by any artist \u2014\u00a033 of his releases went platinum or gold \u2014\u00a0and he\u2019s been nominated for 16 Grammy Awards. His sole win, for Best Country Album, was for 2009\u2019s Troubadour. <\/p>\n
