FREER, Texas \u2014 A coordinated undercover operation by the Freer Police Department\u00a0<\/a>in partnership with Veterans for Child Rescue (V4CR) targeted individuals allegedly trying to exploit minors online.<\/p>\n RELATED: Corpus Christi police warn of scam calls threatening arrest for payment<\/a><\/p>\n Police said three men have been arrested so far, and investigators have more than 18 arrest warrants pending as evidence continues to be reviewed.<\/p>\n Abelom Birhane Asgedom, 43, of Dallas is charged with online solicitation of a minor \u2014 a third\u2011degree felony \u2014 after allegedly traveling to Freer to meet who he believed was a 14\u2011year\u2011old girl.<\/p>\n Gerardo Perez, 37, of Corpus Christi is charged with online solicitation of a minor after allegedly going to Freer to meet who he thought was a 16\u2011year\u2011old girl.<\/p>\n Robert Canarumo Guaiquirima, 32, a Venezuelan national living in Arlington, allegedly traveled to\u00a0Freer\u00a0to meet a person he believed was a 14\u2011year\u2011old girl. Police said an\u00a0immigration detainer has been placed on him, and\u00a0he\u2019s expected\u00a0to\u00a0be transferred\u00a0to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for processing and possible deportation.<\/p>\n Freer police says additional arrests are expected as investigations continue.<\/p>\n Officials remind parents to monitor children\u2019s phones, social media, gaming systems, and messaging apps, as predators often use unfiltered chat tools to contact minors.<\/p>\n More from 3NEWS on KIIITV.com: \u00a0<\/p>\n
