(KSLA) &#8211; A man from Dallas lost his life in a wreck while driving on icy roads in DeSoto Parish Monday, Jan. 26.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Louisiana State Police says the wreck happened around 4 p.m. on Highway 177 near Highway 510. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">John Hordge, 46, of Dallas, was killed in the crash.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"link | text-reset d-block h-100 w-100\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ksla.com\/page\/ksla-streaming\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_self\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"First Aware First Alert on your schedule. ksla.com - KSLA 12 News App - Android TV - Amazon...\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/1769526308_658_DRTYH63LORFU5E4Z5AIWNQTLPI.png\" width=\"980\" height=\"125\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">LSP\u2019s preliminary investigation shows Hordge was driving a 2014 Ford F-150 south on Highway 177, when for reasons still under investigation, he went off the road, hit a guardrail, went into a nearby creek, and flipped.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Police say Hordge was not wearing his seat belt, and was fatally injured. Police do not believe he was impaired, but a toxicology sample was taken for analysis nonetheless.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The wreck is still being investigated.<\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2026 KSLA.
