EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14\/CBS4) \u2014 Three suspects were apprehended Monday afternoon after a police chase regarding a stolen car ended at a shopping mall in East El Paso.<\/p>\n
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, 26-year-old Marco Hernandez, 35-year-old Eduardo Guadalupe Roacho Chavez and a 17-year-old suspect, all from El Paso, were arrested after Hernandez allegedly led authorities on a chase while driving a stolen Silver Chevy Impala.<\/p>\n
TX DPS stated the chase started near I-10 and Edgemere Boulevard, and ended at The Fountains at Farah, when Hernandez reportedly pulled into the shopping mall’s parking lot and they all took off running. <\/p>\n
TX DPS described that officers with the El Paso Police Department apprehended Hernandez at the Fountains, while another suspect was caught on the eastbound lanes of I-10 and the third was caught by a nearby hotel. <\/p>\n
According to DPS, Hernandez was arrested by state troopers, while Chavez and the other underage suspect were taken into custody by officers with EPPD’s Anti-Theft Task Force.<\/p>\n
DPS said an injury was reported and was treated by emergency services, but did not specify who was injured. <\/p>\n
The case remains under investigation. <\/p>\n
Jail records show both Hernandez and Chavez were booked into the El Paso County Downtown Jail.<\/p>\n
Hernandez was charged with evading and resisting arrest as well as unauthorized use of a vehicle, with a combined bond set at $15,000, while Chavez was charged with evading arrest and manufacturing\/delivery of a controlled substance with a bond set at $2,000.<\/p>\n
According to jail records, as of Tuesday evening, both suspects remain in jail.<\/p>\n
