UTA Police have been monitoring campus conditions, which are too hazardous for walking, according to the email. <\/p>\n
What to know for Wednesday:The Maverick Activities Center will remain closed.All parking lots and garages will be open parking with any valid parking permit.The Late Night Security Escort Service will be unavailable.MavMover shuttle buses will not operate.All in-person campus events are canceled.<\/p>\n
Madi Gordon, National Weather Service meteorologist, said the weather is expected to warm above freezing, with temperatures in the low 40s, but Wednesday will start off cold. <\/p>\n
\u201cFreezing fog may deposit patches of light ice, even on areas of the roads that have dried up pretty well today,\u201d Gordon said. <\/p>\n
Cloud coverage is limiting how much snow and sleet melts during the day, she said. <\/p>\n
Wednesday\u2019s morning commute will be hazardous due to reduced visibility from the fog and any slush on roads that freezes overnight, she said. There might also be black ice, especially on bridges and overpasses, creating slick roads. <\/p>\n
With the increased risk during the morning, it\u2019s important for anyone still going out to be more cautious while driving. <\/p>\n
\u201cIf you are out driving in the morning, slow down and leave plenty of distance between you and other vehicles,\u201d Gordon said. \u201cDefinitely allow extra time to get to your destination, and keep an eye out. Even if the road looks dry, there could be black ice, which is very difficult or even impossible to see.\u201d <\/p>\n
