LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – A new album full of local music releases this week as Civic Lubbock Inc. hosted a release party for the 2026 \u201cLubbock Music Now\u201d album earlier this evening.<\/p>\n
KCBD News Channel 11\u2019s James Eppler served as the emcee for the event. This is the 10th album since the project was established in 2016.<\/p>\n
Each year, the album features a collection of current, locally-produced music. Musicians submit songs for consideration and the final group is decided by music experts, including current and former members of the Recording Academy.<\/p>\n
The artists chosen for the album said it\u2019s a special honor to have.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt feels like appreciation from the city for what we do and for all the music that we bring. Lubbock is a very special place, very few places do this and we\u2019re very grateful to be a part of it,\u201d Dayton Cornelius said.<\/p>\n
The new album starts streaming Friday on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music, where the previous albums are already available.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is just an incredible opportunity especially for local artists to really get to share our passion and so much of what we put ourselves into – it\u2019s just incredible,\u201d said Lindsey Bruen.<\/p>\n
