<\/p>\nEL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14\/CBS4) \u2014 Police documents describe how a UTV and surveillance video have led to the arrest of two teenagers, Giovanni Alberto Gutierrez and Gael Adrian Rodriguez, both 17, in connection with a deadly shooting in far east El Paso last year. <\/p>\n
The incident that occurred on November 14, 2025, resulted in the death of 39-year-old Jose Sanchez Garcia, who was found with a gunshot wound to the torso and later died from his injuries on Dec. 16, 2025. <\/p>\n
Deputies responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 2:49 a.m. on Nov. 14, 2025, in the 14100 block of Fortuna Street. Upon arrival, they found Garcia suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to Del Sol Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries on Dec. 16, 2025. His death was ruled a homicide.<\/p>\n
According to an arrest affidavit obtained by KFOX14\/CBS4, surveillance footage revealed Garcia being dropped off by his girlfriend shortly before a four-door utility task vehicle (UTV) approached. <\/p>\n
This is where police say a suspect inside the UTV allegedly fired multiple rounds at Garcia. Authorities reported that two suspects, now identified as Gutierrez and Rodriguez, exited the UTV after the shooting, with one firing an additional round before fleeing.<\/p>\n
The affidavit states that detectives linked the UTV and clothing seen in the surveillance footage to Gutierrez. <\/p>\n
A juvenile witness also identified Gutierrez as the person seen in the video at a nearby gas station shortly after the shooting. <\/p>\n
Additionally, cellphone records also placed Gutierrez at both the shooting scene and the gas station, the affidavit states. <\/p>\n
During a search of Gutierrez\u2019s residence in January 2026, authorities discovered a black Can-Am UTV, ammunition including 7.62 caliber rounds, masks, goggles, and clothing matching that seen in the surveillance video. <\/p>\n

According to the affidavit, Gutierrez admitted to driving the UTV and implicated Rodriguez as the shooter. <\/p>\n
Gutierrez has since been charged with murder. <\/p>\n
Meanwhile, another arrest affidavit obtained by KFOX14\/CBS4 states that Rodriguez is accused of fatally shooting Garcia. <\/p>\n

According to the affidavit, Rodriguez allegedly fired multiple rounds at Garcia from inside the UTV.<\/p>\n
Witnesses reported seeing the suspects leave in the UTV, return shortly after, and search the ground with a cellphone flashlight before driving into the desert area. <\/p>\n
A witness later informed investigators that Rodriguez retrieved a 7.62-caliber rifle from Gutierrez\u2019s residence and returned to the scene, where he allegedly fired the weapon during a physical altercation, striking Garcia.<\/p>\n
Surveillance footage, witness statements, cellphone records, and recovered ammunition were used to identify Rodriguez as the shooter. <\/p>\n
Rodriguez was detained and interviewed but denied involvement.<\/p>\n
Rodriguez was also charged with murder in the case. <\/p>\n
