CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas \u2014 A 38-year-old Corpus Christi man has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for illegal possession of firearms, announced U.S. Attorney Nicholas J. Ganjei.<\/p>\n

The attorney’s office said Ramsey Guerrero pleaded guilty on October 23, 2025.\u00a0<\/p>\n

U.S. District Judge Nelva Gonzales Ramos ordered Guerrero to serve 10 years in prison, followed by three years of supervised release.<\/p>\n

Authorities said Guerrero tried to run from police during a traffic stop on June 10, 2025, and later resisted arrest while facing active warrants.<\/p>\n

Officers discovered multiple firearms, nearly 300 rounds of ammunition, body armor, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia in his possession.<\/p>\n

Guerrero’s criminal history includes three prior state convictions for being a felon in possession of a firearm. The attorney’s office says that because he’s a convicted felon, he is not allowed by law to own or carry any firearms.<\/p>\n

He remains in custody pending transfer to a Federal Bureau of Prisons facility.<\/p>\n
