Investigators continue to work at the scene of a private jet crash in Maine<\/a> that killed six people, including individuals with ties to the Houston area.<\/p>\n

The airport, about 200 miles north of Boston, shut down completely following the crash. Heavy snowfall was reported at the time, as it was in many other parts of the country.<\/p>\n

Shawna Collins<\/p>\n

Among those killed was Shawna Collins, a Houston-area creative and a beloved member of Lakewood Church, church officials confirmed Monday.<\/p>\n

In a statement, Lakewood Church described Collins as \u201ca light that brightened our days,\u201d adding that she possessed \u201ca beautiful spirit that lifted everyone she met.\u201d<\/p>\n

Friends and colleagues remembered Collins as a visionary whose work went beyond event design and into creating meaningful experiences. Saira Orozco said Collins approached her work with intention, creativity, and care that could be felt in every space she touched.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe poured her heart into everything she created,\u201d Orozco said. \u201cIf it was a Shawna Collins event, it was going to be phenomenal, no matter how big or how small.\u201d<\/p>\n

Orozco also emphasized Collins\u2019 devotion to her family, describing her as a loving mother who led with compassion both personally and professionally.<\/p>\n

Jacob Hosmer<\/p>\n

2 Investigates<\/a> was the first to learn that 47-year-old Jacob Hosmer, a Houston-area pilot, was the captain of the flight.<\/p>\n

Hosmer\u2019s father, Gary, confirmed his son\u2019s involvement.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s in Heaven now with Jesus,\u201d Gary Hosmer told KPRC 2.<\/p>\n

A friend of Hosmer\u2019s, who wished to remain anonymous, said he knew him for 15 years as his aviation specialist.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would describe him as a great pilot, a loving husband, and a phenomenal father,\u201d the friend said. \u201cHe was always kind. He was always laughing.\u201d<\/p>\n

On Hosmer\u2019s LinkedIn profile,<\/a> he lists Houston-based injury law firm Arnold and Itkin LLP as his employer since May 2025.<\/p>\n

The Bombardier Challenger 600 crashed as much of the country grappled with a massive winter storm.<\/p>\n
