Yesterday, we talked about Dylan Sikorski and Jonte Newman and how they answer some but not nearly all the questions Texas needed to answer on the OL. Just about an hour after I hit publish on that article, news dropped that fundamentally changed the OL portal class<\/a>. Laurance Seymore, former Western Kentucky OL, has officially signed with the Longhorns<\/a>, adding another likely starter to the Texas OL.\u00a0<\/p>\n 2025 Stats: Phil Steele 2nd Team All-American, 82.6 Pass Block Grade(PFF), 1 sack allowed<\/p>\n This is a gamechanger. The Texas portal class felt incomplete with the OL looking incredibly thin. The addition of Seymore not only gives Texas their likely starter at LG, but it slides Dylan Sikorski and Jonte Newman into more comfortable positions on the depth chart. Seymore is someone I\u2019ve been watching closely and despite some eligibility questions, it\u2019s a top-tier pickup.\u00a0<\/p>\n What made Seymore a second-team All-American is elite pass blocking. Seymore allowed just one sack and eight pressures in 503 pass blocking snaps in 2025, leading a potent Western Kentucky passing attack. It\u2019s clear Kyle Flood and Steve Sarkisian are prioritizing pass protection and allowing Arch Manning to lead the way. Seymore finishes out the starting five for the Longhorns up front, likely at LG next to Trevor Goosby.\u00a0<\/p>\n The eligibility is something to watch. Seymore started his career at Miami in 2021. He redshirted the first year, then made his debut in 2022 for the Hurricanes. For 2023, he transferred to Akron where he didn\u2019t play the first year before starting in 2024. Finally in 2025, he was at Western Kentucky which put him at 5 years of college football. The question surrounds that 2023 season when he didn\u2019t play for Akron.\u00a0<\/p>\n
