<\/p>\nEL PASO, Texas (KFOX14\/CBS4) \u2014 In this segment of Community Conversations, the Texas Department of Transportation announced significant closures for the Purple Heart Widening Project that will impact drivers in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n
According to Lauren Macias-Cervantes from TxDOT, full weekend closures of the main lanes and a ramp closure are scheduled for February.<\/p>\n
Crews are currently working on the future northbound frontage road, paving it and connecting it to the main lanes, which will serve as a temporary detour in March when a traffic switch occurs.<\/p>\n
The first full weekend closure of the main lanes is set for this weekend, as crews will be crossing storm sewer pipes across the main lanes.<\/p>\n
The closure will affect both northbound and southbound lanes of Loop 375 between Montana and Spur 601 from 3 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday. on the weekends of Jan. 31 through Feb. 2, skipping Super Bowl weekend, and then the weekends of Feb. 14-16 and Feb. 21-23. <\/p>\n
