EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14\/CBS4) \u2014 A man has turned himself in after a deadly crash on New Year’s Day in northeast El Paso.<\/p>\n

The man identified as 48-year-old Abel Garcia of Chaparral, New Mexico, turned himself in on Wednesday. <\/p>\n

Garcia is charged with Intoxication Manslaughter.<\/p>\n

Garcia had an outstanding warrant for Family Violence at the time. <\/p>\n

The deadly crash happened at the intersection of Gateway North and Sean Hagerty early on Jan. 1.<\/p>\n

The collision involved a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado pickup and a 2013 Chevrolet Camaro.<\/p>\n

The crash resulted in the death of 18-year-old Angelique Diaz De Leon, a resident of Northeast El Paso, Texas, who was a passenger in the Camaro.<\/p>\n

A 19-year-old was driving the Camaro, who was also injured and taken to the hospital. <\/p>\n

According to the preliminary investigation by the Special Traffic Investigations unit, the Camaro was traveling east on Sean Hagerty when it was T-boned by the pickup truck in the intersection.<\/p>\n

Authorities have identified a red-light violation by the pickup truck driven by Garcia as a contributing factor in the collision, and they are investigating the possibility that alcohol may have played a role. <\/p>\n
