EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) \u2014\u00a0An internal document\u00a0from Crunch Fitness, a U.S. franchised fitness club,\u00a0is\u00a0circulating online<\/a> \u2013 the document\u00a0details\u00a0what\u00a0front desk\u00a0employees\u00a0should\u00a0do if U.S. Immigration and Customs and Protection officers visit.<\/p>\n

The Crunch Fitness involved is the east side location at 2060 N Zaragoza Road. The franchise is\u00a0operated\u00a0by Undefeated Tribe Operating Company, LLC.\u00a0A representative at the northeast location on Dyer tells KTSM 9 News the two locations are\u00a0operated\u00a0by different general managers and could not confirm if\u00a0their\u00a0location received the same memo.<\/p>\n

KTSM reached out to Crunch Fitness to\u00a0validate\u00a0the legitimacy of the memo and learned from a representative at the eastside location that the document\u00a0was\u00a0real but\u00a0was\u00a0only\u00a0meant for internal usage.<\/p>\n

On the front page,\u00a0Crunch\u00a0lists\u00a0emergency contacts to call in case ICE visits and includes:\u00a0\u201cOur Company policy is to cooperate with any law enforcement officer.\u201d<\/p>\n

The reference also includes\u00a0an\u00a0employee\u2019s role\u00a0in a raid, how to\u00a0and to not\u00a0behave, and a list of public\u00a0and\u00a0private\u00a0areas\u00a0that state where officers\u00a0can\u00a0operate\u00a0freely.<\/p>\n

In reaction to this story,<\/a> one Facebook user wrote, \u201cCompliance does not mean agreeance.\u201d Another Facebook user posted, \u201cOf course they should comply with law enforcement, it\u2019s illegal not to.\u201d<\/p>\n

This memo comes as ICE immigration operations continue to happen across the nation with agents arriving at workplaces, sparking controversy.<\/p>\n

KTSM reached out to Crunch\u2019s parent company and\u00a0is\u00a0awaiting a statement.\u00a0We also asked the Department of Homeland Security if they had comment for response, but have not heard back as of 2:30 p.m. Thursday, January 29. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.<\/p>\n
