Now that the ice is starting to melt, it\u2019s the perfect time to get out of the house and immerse yourself in Fort Worth\u2019s arts community.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>And don\u2019t miss the chance to head over to Will Rogers Coliseum this Saturday and Sunday for the Escaramuza &amp; Charro Cala Competitions, a unique segment of the Fort Worth Stock Show &amp; Rodeo. The riding events feature synchronized routines meant to <a href=\"https:\/\/fortworthreport.org\/2025\/02\/03\/five-years-in-fort-worth-rodeos-escaramuza-competition-spotlights-mexican-culture\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">spotlight precision, fluidity and timing<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Last year, I spent an entire day following the Selecci\u00f3n Oklahoma Juvenil escaramuza team at the youth competition. Spoiler alert: They won first place.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/fortworthreport.org\/event\/escaramuza-and-charro-cala-competition\/2026-01-31\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Watch escaramuza competition spotlight Mexican culture<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Escaramuza charra is the female equestrian event within the Mexican tradition of \u201ccharrer\u00eda.\u201d Fort Worth\u2019s escaramuza competition became the first major livestock show and rodeo event sanctioned by the Mexican Association of Charros Federation in 2020. The event is free to attend with grounds admission.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>What: Escaramuza &amp; Charro Cala Competition<br \/>When: 9 a.m. Jan. 31; 10 a.m. Feb. 1<br \/>Where: Will Rogers Coliseum, 3401 W.
