<\/p>\nEL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) – For the second week in a row, health inspectors are stepping over cockroaches at a local restaurant. Meanwhile, one Colorado Springs shop is serving up a bowl of ramen with a side of reassurance.<\/p>\n

Little Nepal on Flintridge Drive near N Academy and N Union failed its recent routine health inspection.<\/a><\/p>\n That\u2019s the third health inspection it\u2019s failed in a year! The restaurant received so many violations last February that it was temporarily closed.<\/p>\n Among the eight violations this time around: dead and live cockroaches, a dirty ice machine, and some food at an unsafe temperature.<\/p>\n This comes after the health department slammed New Panda on E Cheyenne Mountain Boulevard for cockroaches last week.<\/a> In a text message to KRDO13, the New Panda owner responded, saying they\u2019ve now done a full-restaurant pest treatment and are ready for their re-inspection.<\/p>\n When we stopped by Little Nepal, the manager told us to call the owner, Muku Bhandari, who says they\u2019re actively working with pest control.<\/p>\n Of course, pest problems don’t usually get fixed instantaneously.<\/p>\n \u201cI think we are on the right path right now,\u201d Muku assured during the phone call with KRDO.\u00a0<\/p>\n Little Nepal passed its latest re-inspection just a few days ago, although cockroaches were \u201cstill present in the establishment.\u201d<\/p>\n Per protocol, the health department will return shortly to check in.<\/p>\n We asked Muku if he thought they\u2019d pass that inspection, which will likely be in the next few months.<\/p>\n \u201cHonestly, we\u2019re going to pass because we have all the procedures in place now, so whatever the health department said, we are doing that, so we are going to pass it for sure, obviously,\u201d he responded.<\/p>\n HIGH SCORES: <\/p>\n We had a perfect score this week: Thunder & Buttons<\/a> on W Colorado Avenue!<\/p>\n Other high scores were MyHouse Cafe<\/a> in Monument, The Happy Cow<\/a> on W Colorado Avenue, and Ramen O Ramen<\/a> off S Nevada Avenue.<\/p>\n \u201cWe just do what we\u2019re supposed to do,\u201d Ramen O Ramen Manager Kisook Lee explained.<\/p>\n They make some pretty good food following the rules, too.<\/p>\n \u201cI enjoy all the fresh ingredients that we put on top,\u201d said employee Arthurina Rosario. \u201cThe soup is so delicious, especially when it\u2019s cold outside – it makes you nice, warm and fuzzy.\u201d<\/p>\n Keep an eye out for the KRDO13 Restaurant Roundup awards at your favorite restaurant to know the kitchen inside is clean.<\/p>\n All of our high and low-scoring restaurants are based on routine health inspections conducted by the El Paso County Health Department.<\/p>\n Click here<\/a>\u00a0for a look at all the most recent health inspection scores.<\/p>\n Stay up to date with the latest local news, sports, and investigations by downloading the KRDO13 app. Click here to download it from the Apple App Store.<\/a> Android users can download it from Google Play here.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.
