EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14\/CBS4) \u2014 A homicide in Socorro triggered a standoff in Central El Paso on Sunday. <\/p>\n
According to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, there was a homicide on Sunday at the 10500 block of Monte Alto, close to Horizon Boulevard in Socorro. <\/p>\n
Details remain limited, but EPCSO said that the investigation into that homicide led to a standoff at the intersection of Idalia Avenue and Piedras Street as investigators believed the homicide suspect was there. <\/p>\n
Officers with the El Paso Police Department helped assisted deputies with the Sheriff’s Office.<\/p>\n
KFOX14\/CBS4 cameras captured a handcuffed man being put into the back of a patrol car; no word if he was the suspect in question.<\/p>\n

The standoff started at around 2:41 p.m. and as of 5:30 p.m., remained active according to KFOX14\/CBS4 crews on the scene.<\/p>\n
