As students stage a walkout at San Antonio schools<\/a> as part of a national strike, a variety of Alamo City businesses also closed for the day in solidarity.<\/p>\n

A protest also is planned for 2 p.m. at Travis Park. A flyer for the demonstration, organized by the San Antonio chapter of Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL) and other local groups, demanded \u201cNO BUSINESS AS USUAL.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cTrump is waging a war on our most basic rights, killing and kidnapping people left and right. The people must STAND UP AND FIGHT BACK against Trump by walking out, calling out, and SHUTTING IT DOWN this Friday!\u201d the post<\/a> caption added. <\/p>\n

In solidarity, an array of San Antonio-owned businesses announced their participation in the strike by closing their doors for the day.<\/p>\n

Here is a list of some taking part in the strike:<\/p>\n

Del Bravo Record Shop<\/a>, 554 Old US Highway 90 West<\/p>\n

Nowhere Bookshop<\/a>, 5154 Broadway<\/p>\n

Shotgun House Roasters<\/a>, 1333 Buena Vista St.<\/p>\n

House of Monsters<\/a>, 517 E Woodlawn Ave.<\/p>\n

Mira Matcha<\/a>\u00a0on 1931 North New Braunfels Ave. is staying open but will donate a portion of the proceeds made from this weekend to the\u00a0Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services<\/a> (RAICES)<\/p>\n

Very That<\/a>, inside Pica Pica Plaza, 910 Southeast Military Drive<\/p>\n

Hash Vegan Eatery<\/a>, 5007 South Flores St.<\/p>\n

Rosas Kitchen Food Truck<\/a>, 246 East Cevallos St. is staying open but donating proceeds to organizations supporting immigrants<\/p>\n

CheeseM\u00e9 Charcuterie Boards<\/a>, 106 Michigan Ave. is staying open but donating a portion of proceeds to organizations supporting immigrants<\/p>\n

Copper Rose Wine<\/a>, 1814 Blanco Road<\/p>\n

Wildcraft General<\/a>\/Relyt Tea<\/a>, 906 Nolan St.<\/p>\n

The Clay Department<\/a>, 2301 South Presa St.<\/p>\n

Oh Yeah! Cakes<\/a>, 713 S. St. Mary\u2019s St. is staying open but donating proceeds to organizations supporting immigrants<\/p>\n

\u201cViva la raza!\u201d longtime record store Del Bravo records said in its announcement of its closure for the day as part of the nationwide strike against ICE.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis doesn\u2019t end unless we choose to interrupt it,\u201d said an announcement by local apothecary, tea and gift shop Wildcraft General. \u201cWe believe we have the power if we ALL show up.\u201d<\/p>\n

Other businesses, such as Liberty Bar and Leche de Tigre, have announced their support for the strike while explaining why they decided to stay open.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe stand in solidarity with the General Strike happening across the country today,\u201d a Friday Instagram post<\/a> from Liberty Bar said. \u201cThe realities of running a small, family run business led us to make the decision to stay open. At core of who we are is [a] community gathering space, a space for discourse and a safe harbor for all people and we will be here and open for that.\u201d<\/p>\n
