{"id":144711,"date":"2026-01-30T23:34:12","date_gmt":"2026-01-30T23:34:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/144711\/"},"modified":"2026-01-30T23:34:12","modified_gmt":"2026-01-30T23:34:12","slug":"seven-unique-funds-to-support-on-texas-tech-day-of-giving-january-2026-texas-tech-now","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/144711\/","title":{"rendered":"Seven Unique Funds to Support on Texas Tech Day of Giving | January 2026 | Texas Tech Now"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>                     Texas Tech Day of Giving is quickly approaching; this is your moment to make a meaningful<br \/>\n                        difference across campus.<\/p>\n<p>\t\tCREATORS<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/haleigh-erramouspe.jpg\" alt=\"Portrait of Haleigh Erramouspe\"\/><\/p>\n<p>As another West Texas sunrise crests the horizon, students, faculty and staff at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ttu.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Texas Tech University<\/a> begin their day.<\/p>\n<p>Cans clank together as a student assistant stocks shelves in <a href=\"https:\/\/dayofgiving.ttu.edu\/campaigns\/raider-reds-food-pantry-2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Raider Red\u2019s Food Pantry<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Dust kicks up behind the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.depts.ttu.edu\/vetschool\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">School of Veterinary Medicine<\/a> Community and Regional Engagement Service (CARES) mobile unit as it departs to provide<br \/>\n                           aid to animals throughout West Texas and the Panhandle.<\/p>\n<p>School buses park and giggles resound through the <a href=\"https:\/\/ranchingheritage.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">National Ranching Heritage Center<\/a> parking lot as students eagerly await a day spent at the <a href=\"https:\/\/ranchingheritage.org\/learn\/ranch-life-learning\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Cash Family Ranch Life Learning Center<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>One student turns this way and that in front of a car mirror in the parking lot, making<br \/>\n                           sure professional attire purchased through the <a href=\"https:\/\/dayofgiving.ttu.edu\/campaigns\/rawls-college-dress-for-success-scholarship\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Rawls Dress for Success Scholarship<\/a> lies just right before entering the career fair.<\/p>\n<p>While each of these members of the Texas Tech and broader Lubbock community is starting<br \/>\n                           their day differently, they all share a common bond: <a href=\"https:\/\/dayofgiving.ttu.edu\/pages\/home-2663\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Texas Tech Day of Giving<\/a> donors have made an impact on their lives.<\/p>\n<p>Texas Tech will host its fourth Day of Giving on March 24-25. For 1,923 minutes, Red<br \/>\n                           Raiders rally together to have a collective impact, changing lives and strengthening<br \/>\n                           the community.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDay of Giving has become one of my favorite traditions,\u201d said <a href=\"https:\/\/give.ttu.edu\/s\/1422\/20\/interior.aspx?sid=1422&amp;gid=1003&amp;pgid=6614\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Byron Kennedy<\/a>, vice president for <a href=\"https:\/\/give.ttu.edu\/s\/1422\/20\/home.aspx?gid=1003&amp;pgid=3246\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">advancement<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s inspiring to see alumni, friends and family come together to support programs<br \/>\n                           and initiatives that are so meaningful to them. During this event, the strength and<br \/>\n                           unity of the Red Raider family is on full display. You can see the collective impact<br \/>\n                           they are having on our students, faculty, staff, campus and community in real time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 2026 Texas Tech Day of Giving will feature more than 100 funds from colleges,<br \/>\n                           schools and units across campus. From those that transform lives and fuel academic<br \/>\n                           excellence, to those that elevate our campus and community and build champions, there<br \/>\n                           are options that resonate with everyone.<\/p>\n<p>With so many choices available, we gathered seven unique programs where your gift<br \/>\n                           \u2013 whether $5, $50 or $5,000 \u2013 can create an immediate and lasting impact.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>                           <a href=\"https:\/\/dayofgiving.ttu.edu\/campaigns\/companion-animal-science-education-and-research-fund\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Companion Animal Science Education &amp; Research Fund<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Our pets can be some of the most beloved companions in our lives, and at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.depts.ttu.edu\/agriculturalsciences\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Davis College of Agricultural Sciences &amp; Natural Resources<\/a>, a team of faculty and graduate students is dedicated to researching them. <\/p>\n<p>Gifts to this initiative enable hands-on learning and innovative research for students<br \/>\n                              studying companion animal behavior and training. Beyond supporting equipment, supplies,<br \/>\n                              travel and other research costs, donations directly help students earn animal training<br \/>\n                              certifications and acquire the skills needed for careers in related fields. Contributions<br \/>\n                              also help maintain and enhance the training spaces used for student learning and canine<br \/>\n                              training seminars, benefiting both students and the broader community.<\/p>\n<p>                              <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Vet-School-Clinical-Programs.jpg\" alt=\"Vet School Programs\"\/><\/p>\n<p>                           <a href=\"https:\/\/dayofgiving.ttu.edu\/campaigns\/office-of-clinical-programs-support-fund\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Vet School Office of Clinical Programs Support Fund<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The mission of Texas Tech School of Veterinary Medicine is to serve rural and regional<br \/>\n                              communities, and students begin fulfilling that goal before they even walk the stage.<br \/>\n                              Fourth-year veterinary students spend their entire final year completing immersive<br \/>\n                              clinical rotations at partner sites across Texas and New Mexico, gaining real-world<br \/>\n                              experience and hands-on training while serving their communities.<\/p>\n<p>The Office of Clinical Programs Support Fund guarantees students have the resources<br \/>\n                              they need to succeed in this clinical year. This fund offers fourth-year scholarships,<br \/>\n                              travel and housing support and more for both students and our clinical partners, ensuring<br \/>\n                              future veterinarians can focus on learning rather than financial strain.<\/p>\n<p>                           <a href=\"https:\/\/dayofgiving.ttu.edu\/campaigns\/student-mental-health-community\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Student Mental Health Community<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Student Mental Health Community at Texas Tech is striving to create a community<br \/>\n                              and campus where mental health is valued, stigma is challenged and no student has<br \/>\n                              to face struggles alone. Donations support peer-led support groups, wellness workshops,<br \/>\n                              crisis-prevention resources and community-building events that make a real difference<br \/>\n                              in students\u0092 lives.<\/p>\n<p>Every gift to this fund helps ensure students feel seen, supported, connected and<br \/>\n                              empowered when they need it most, building a healthier, more resilient Red Raider<br \/>\n                              community.<\/p>\n<p>                           <a href=\"https:\/\/dayofgiving.ttu.edu\/campaigns\/rawls-student-support-fund\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Rawls College Student Support Fund<\/a><\/p>\n<p>When life\u0092s emergencies threaten to derail a student\u0092s education, the Rawls College<br \/>\n                              Student Support Fund is there to bridge the gap. This fund helps cover essential needs,<br \/>\n                              including housing, food, transportation, medical expenses and other urgent costs that<br \/>\n                              could otherwise disrupt academic progress. Every dollar raised for this fund goes<br \/>\n                              directly to providing timely support\u2014helping students stay focused and advance toward<br \/>\n                              their academic and professional goals during moments of need. Gifts ensure temporary<br \/>\n                              setbacks do not become lasting barriers to success.<\/p>\n<p>This year, the Rawls Recent Alumni Board has issued a challenge to current students.<br \/>\n                              If 100 students donate any amount to the Rawls College Student Support Fund on Day<br \/>\n                              of Giving, the board will contribute $1,000.<\/p>\n<p>                              <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Debate-Fund-v2.jpg\" alt=\"Debate Fund\"\/><\/p>\n<p>                           <a href=\"https:\/\/dayofgiving.ttu.edu\/campaigns\/debate-fund-for-excellence\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Communication Studies Debate Fund for Excellence<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Did you know that Texas Tech has a debate team? Not only does the university have<br \/>\n                              one, but it\u0092s also one of the most successful programs in the country. Gifts to the<br \/>\n                              Communication Studies Debate Fund for Excellence help equip students with the skills<br \/>\n                              needed to become advocates who base their arguments on the best available evidence<br \/>\n                              and research on real-world issues. Donations directly support students\u0092 success by<br \/>\n                              providing the resources necessary to travel to competitions and represent Texas Tech<br \/>\n                              on regional and national stages.<\/p>\n<p>                              <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/SGA-Fund-2.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/>SGA Fund<\/p>\n<p>                           <a href=\"https:\/\/dayofgiving.ttu.edu\/campaigns\/student-government-association-fund-for-excellence-2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Student Government Association Fund for Excellence<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Texas Tech\u0092s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.depts.ttu.edu\/sga\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Student Government Association<\/a> (SGA) works hard to make sure every Red Raider feels heard and at home on campus<br \/>\n                              and in Lubbock. As the voice of the students, more than 150 volunteers and elected<br \/>\n                              officers work together to engage the student population despite limited funding and<br \/>\n                              rising costs. Funds toward SGA ensure their ability to serve campus and the growing<br \/>\n                              student population. As funding challenges grow, sustaining the traditions that define<br \/>\n                              the Red Raider experience has become increasingly difficult for this group.<\/p>\n<p>Your support for the Student Government Fund for Excellence ensures that more than<br \/>\n                              5,000 new and returning students can gather to form a Double-T at the eagerly anticipated<br \/>\n                              \u201cFirst Photo,\u201d that seniors can celebrate their final campus event by taking the 1,923<br \/>\n                              steps to Urbanovsky Park during \u201cGraduation Walk,\u201d and that disadvantaged children<br \/>\n                              can experience Red Raider spirit through the \u201cTake a Kid to the Game\u201d partnership<br \/>\n                              with Athletics. Every gift helps SGA provide leadership opportunities, signature programs<br \/>\n                              and enhanced events \u2014 strengthening our community and bringing smiles to faces across<br \/>\n                              campus and Lubbock.<\/p>\n<p>                           <a href=\"https:\/\/dayofgiving.ttu.edu\/pages\/spirit-programs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Spirit Programs<\/a><\/p>\n<p>When you think of your favorite Texas Tech tradition, it most likely involves our<br \/>\n                              spirit squads. Spirit Programs are home to many enthusiastic students whose Red Raider<br \/>\n                              pride is essential to maintaining these traditions we know and love.
