HOUSTON \u2013 The daughter of woman who was found dead Monday evening under a bridge near Daikin Park, said she tried to convince her mother to stay with her.<\/p>\n
The body of Alicia Harnishfeger was found under a bridge near Congress and Hamilton in downtown Houston.<\/p>\n
Harnishfeger was a mother of five who struggled with both mental health issues and substance abuse according to her daughter, Bianca Barajas.<\/p>\n
Barajas, 17, fought back tears as she described how she urged her mother to stay with her in warm home just before the frigid temperatures hit, but her mother declined the offer.<\/p>\n
\u201cSome people do have homes, they just refuse the services and she was a very sweet, kind, loving person. And I just, if there\u2019s another freeze coming up this weekend I would like everyone to know to protect their families whether they\u2019re homeless or not,\u201d Barajas said.<\/p>\n
Harnishfeger\u2019s cause of death was still pending Friday.<\/p>\n
Barajas said that her family could use some help with burial expenses.<\/p>\n
