Lubbock Christian’s bench contributed significantly with 36 points, while Cameron managed only 14 points in the paint throughout the game.

Lubbock Christian improved to 18-3 overall and 9-2 in Lone Star Conference competition with a decisive victory. Cameron fell to 6-14 overall and 3-9 in the LSC standings.

The Chaps set the tone early, with Amondo Miller Jr. scoring a layup just nine seconds after the tip-off, assisted by Lucas Mercandino. The team continued to dominate offensively, as Kendall Dow nailed a three-pointer at the 19:17 mark, fueling their early momentum.

When Dow hit again from beyond the arc at the 13:14 mark, Lubbock Christian really took over. Cameron did not score a single point for the next 10 minutes and three seconds, as the Chaps went on a 30-0 run to build out a 45-9 lead. The Aggies finally broke their drought with a layup at the 3:50 mark, but the Chaps still led by 35 at the break, thanks in part to Dow’s buzzer-beating jumper. The senior scored all of his team-high 21 points in the opening 20 minutes.

The Chaparrals continued to extend their advantage in the second half, breaking the 50-point threshold with just under nine minutes to play on a three-pointer from Jett McCasland. That three was part of a 14-0 run that Ignacio Garcia capped off with back-to-back layups to put LCU ahead by 58.

LCU’s largest margin in the game came at the 3:33 mark, when Devin Baccas hit a three-pointer to put them ahead by 62. Emerson Juhasz and McCasland hit layups in the final minute on the way to the 57-point win.

Kendall Dow led the team with 21 points, converting 4 of 7 from beyond the arc. Miller Jr. added 18 points while making all six free-throw attempts and grabbing five rebounds. Mercandino contributed with eight assists and six rebounds. Pusateri posted a double-double, scoring 14 points and pulling down 14 rebounds.

GAME NOTES:

– The 107 points scored by the Chaps were the most since Nov. 26, 2024, when they scored 108 against UT Dallas

– LCU’s plus-57 margin of victory is their largest under Head Coach Todd Duncan, surpassing the previous 56-point win against Open Bible College on Nov. 15, 2013

– The Chap total of 107 points was just eight shy of matching the Rip Griffin Center scoring record of 115, set on Nov. 21, 2013 against Southwest (N.M.)

– 11 of the 12 healthy players on the Chaps’ roster scored in the game, including a career-high 13 points from Garcia

– LCU’s 60.9 shooting percentage was also the best since the 108-point outing against UT Dallas on Nov. 26, 2024

NEXT UP:

The Chaps have an odd Tuesday game up next, hosting Midwestern State at 7:30 p.m. at the Rip Griffin Center.

 Next Game: Midwestern State University 2/3/2026 | 7:30 P.M. Feb. 03 (Tue) / 7:30…

[16
168,170,169
0":"post-145894","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-lubbock","8":"tag-lubbock","9":"tag-lubbock-headlines","10":"tag-lubbock-news
["GET
