Lubbock Christian outscored Cameron 43\u201320 in the second half, including a decisive 24\u201312 third quarter in which the home team shot 63.6 percent from the field and went a perfect 9-for-9 at the free-throw line.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/lcuchaps.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/tia-johnson\/3512\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"3512\" target=\"_blank\">Tia Johnson<\/a> provided the early spark for LCU, scoring 10 of her team-high 14 points in the first quarter to keep the Lady Chaps within striking distance. <a href=\"https:\/\/lcuchaps.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/tia-johnson\/3512\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"3512\" target=\"_blank\">Tia Johnson<\/a> finished 5-of-11 from the floor and knocked down two three-pointers, posting her seventh career double-digit scoring game and her fourth in a five-game span. Lubbock Christian&#8217;s depth took over as the game wore on, with 10 players scoring in the second half and the bench accounting for 38 points overall.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nFreshman <a href=\"https:\/\/lcuchaps.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/mattie-dollar\/4859\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"4859\" target=\"_blank\">Mattie Dollar<\/a> delivered a career-high 12 points on 4-of-5 shooting, while <a href=\"https:\/\/lcuchaps.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/kyndle-cunningham\/4857\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"4857\" target=\"_blank\">Kyndle Cunningham<\/a> added eight points and a team-leading seven rebounds. <a href=\"https:\/\/lcuchaps.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/kennedy-chappell\/4849\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"4849\" target=\"_blank\">Kennedy Chappell<\/a> filled the stat sheet with seven points, five rebounds and five assists, helping orchestrate an offense that closed the game on a 16\u20132 run and built its largest lead at 26 points.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nCameron (2-18, 2-10 LSC) was led by Emmary Elizondo, who scored a game-high 14 points and added eight rebounds. Kloe Heidebrecht finished with 13 points, while Ayonna Cooper chipped in four points and two rebounds. The Aggies opened the game shooting efficiently, hitting 10 of their first 20 shots, but struggled to sustain offense as Lubbock Christian&#8217;s defense tightened. Cameron went just 8-of-36 from the field over the final 22 minutes and 27 seconds and finished the game at 32.1% shooting.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThe win completed a regular-season sweep of Cameron for Lubbock Christian and improved the Lady Chaps to 6\u20131 at home this season.<\/p>\n<p>How It Happened<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nLubbock Christian and Cameron opened the game with a competitive first quarter, as the Aggies took an early 16-12 lead. Emmary Elizondo started the scoring with a 3-pointer for CU at 8:58. <a href=\"https:\/\/lcuchaps.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/tia-johnson\/3512\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"3512\" target=\"_blank\">Tia Johnson<\/a> responded for the Chaps with two consecutive 3-pointers, briefly putting her team ahead at 8:09. However, Cameron&#8217;s Ayonna Cooper and Kloe Heidebrecht contributed crucial paint points to help their team regain control, as the Aggies used a 13-2 run while LCU hit a dry patch from the field with one field goal in a 10-shot stretch. Cameron went the final five minutes of the half without a field goal, as LCU went on a 12-2 run during the span to close the half. Dollar led LCU with six points in the frame, while <a href=\"https:\/\/lcuchaps.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/tia-johnson\/3512\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"3512\" target=\"_blank\">Tia Johnson<\/a> led LCU at the break with her 10 points.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nThe Chaps pulled ahead in the third quarter, outscoring Cameron 24-12. <a href=\"https:\/\/lcuchaps.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/kennedy-chappell\/4849\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"4849\" target=\"_blank\">Kennedy Chappell<\/a> opened the scoring with a layup at 9:23, setting the tone for Lubbock Christian&#8217;s dominance in the paint. Her field goal also capped a 9-0 run and 14-2 run. Cameron ended their nearly-seven-minute stretch without a field goal (0-of-7 from the field in the stretch). LCU had a 9-0 run in the quarter, in which five of the points were tallied from the free-throw line. The quarter concluded with Chappell converting two free throws at 1:19 to solidify Lubbock Christian&#8217;s 54-39 lead, as LCU, 7-of-11 from the field in the period (63.6%) was 9-of-9 from the line in the period. <a href=\"https:\/\/lcuchaps.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/martie-mccoy\/3511\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"3511\" target=\"_blank\">Martie McCoy<\/a> Chappell and Cunningham each paced LCU with four points in the quarter.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nThe Chaps dominated the fourth quarter to secure a decisive victory over the Aggies, outscoring the visitors 19-8 in the final quarter (doing it with 14 different players playing at least 90 seconds). Chappell contributed significantly with a layup and a successful free throw at 8:23, extending the lead. Moyers and <a href=\"https:\/\/lcuchaps.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/raegan-lee\/4860\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"4860\" target=\"_blank\">Raegan Lee<\/a> each added a spirited three-pointer, with Lee&#8217;s coming at 3:48, to close a 10-0 run and widening the gap to 67-45. McCoy&#8217;s three-pointer at 1:09 and Dollar&#8217;s three-pointer in the final 30 seconds solidified Lubbock Christian&#8217;s commanding performance closing the game on a 16-2 surge. LCU, outscoring CU 43-20 in the second half, outscored CU 50-20 in the game&#8217;s final 22:27 (22-minutes, 27-seconds). CU, opening the game 10-of-20 from the field, was 8-of-36 (22.2%) from the field over the final 22:27. Chappell led LCU in the second half with seven points, as she was one of 10 Lady Chaps figuring into the second half offense.<\/p>\n<p>Game Notes<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00bb LCU had a season-high 30 three-point field goal attempts and their highest total of three-point attempts since\u2026 a 32-attempt effort from deep on Jan. 25, 2025 against Cameron. <a href=\"https:\/\/lcuchaps.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/maddie-moyers\/4854\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"4854\" target=\"_blank\">Maddie Moyers<\/a> (3-of-5) and <a href=\"https:\/\/lcuchaps.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/tia-johnson\/3512\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"3512\" target=\"_blank\">Tia Johnson<\/a> (2-of-4) had the highest attempt totals from long-range by an LCU individual (in the game), as 13 different Lady Chaps had a t least one attempt.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00bb\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/lcuchaps.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/tia-johnson\/3512\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"3512\" target=\"_blank\">Tia Johnson<\/a> provided an early offensive spark for Lubbock Christian, finishing with a team-high 14 points and accounting for the majority of the Lady Chaps&#8217; first-quarter production. Johnson scored 10 of her 14 points in the opening frame, shooting 4-of-7 from the field as LCU opened the game at 35.7 percent (5-of-14) as a team. She connected on 2-of-3 attempts from three-point range in the quarter, contributing six points from beyond the arc, while the rest of the team combined to shoot 1-of-7 from the floor, with the lone &#8220;non-Tia&#8221; basket coming from her sister, <a href=\"https:\/\/lcuchaps.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/deja-johnson\/3513\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"3513\" target=\"_blank\">Deja Johnson<\/a>.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nThe performance marked Johnson&#8217;s seventh career double-digit scoring game at Lubbock Christian and her fourth in a five-game stretch, continuing a recent run of consistent offensive production.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00bb\u00a0LCU took advantage of their free-throws, as they were 13-of-14 from the free-throw line, going 12-of-12 as a team in the second half. <a href=\"https:\/\/lcuchaps.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/kennedy-chappell\/4849\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"4849\" target=\"_blank\">Kennedy Chappell<\/a> had the best line (3-of-3) by a lady Chaps individual from the line.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00bbThe Lady Chaps, who trailed as much as eight points in the game (trailed for nearly 15 minutes in the game), would end up bouncing back for a 26-point margin of victory (their largest win margin of the season).<\/p>\n<p>\u00bb A pair of freshman had strong performances for LCU in Saturday&#8217;s win, as <a href=\"https:\/\/lcuchaps.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/mattie-dollar\/4859\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"4859\" target=\"_blank\">Mattie Dollar<\/a> produced a career high in scoring with 12 points off 4-of-5 shooting from the field, and <a href=\"https:\/\/lcuchaps.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/kyndle-cunningham\/4857\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"4857\" target=\"_blank\">Kyndle Cunningham<\/a> was eyeing a double-double performance with a team-leading seven rebounds and added eight points. Dollar&#8217;s performance also included a 2-of-2 shooting mark from outside and added five rebounds, as she notched her second career double-figure offensive performance. The two helped LCU out-score Cameron 38-4 in bench scoring (the four bench points were Cameron&#8217;s only bench points in two games against LCU this season).<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00bb The win helped LCU sweep the regular season series over Cameron, as LCU&#8217;s 2-0 regular season record against the Aggies has them with 12 consecutive wins in the series and with a 14-9 all-time series lead.
