DALLAS, Texas \u2013 UT Arlington women’s tennis was back in action for the first time in over a week Saturday, making the trip to the\u00a0Styslinger\/Altec Tennis Complex in Dallas\u00a0for a dual match against the Arizona Wildcats. The Mavericks were swept by the Wildcats, falling 7-0. Both matches UTA (0-2) has played this season have come against Big 12 opponents.<\/p>\n
Arizona (4-2) got off to a strong start in doubles play. The Wildcats duos on Court 1 and Court 2 picked up 6-2 victories to secure the point. Arizona has won the doubles point in five of its six matches in the spring, the lone exception coming earlier in the day in its 4-0 loss to SMU. The Mavericks Court 3 doubles team of\u00a0Natalia Gonzalez<\/a> and Tasnime Ahamout<\/a> battled hard, but ultimately fell 6-4 to\u00a0 The Wildcats kept their momentum rolling in singles play, picking up wins on all six courts.\u00a0Tanvi Narendran’s victory over Flora Farkaslaki<\/a> on Court 5 moved her to 4-0 in singles play this spring. UTA’s Sofia Selle<\/a> made her opponent\u00a0\u2014 Arizona’s Danielle Tuhten \u2014 work hard by winning four games in the first set and six games total before her loss ultimately secured the seventh and final point for the Wildcats.<\/p>\n It will be a quick turnaround for the Mavericks, who make another short trip to take on the TCU Horned Frogs. TCU is UTA’s third Big 12 opponent of the season. The bout is set for\u00a06 p.m. Sunday at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center in Fort Worth.<\/p>\n Arizona 7, UTA 0
