An El Paso man remains jailed on murder charge in connection with the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old man in Fabens, authorities said.<\/p>\n

Deputies arrested Kelvin Lee Armenta, 19, on suspicion of murder in the Thursday, Jan. 29, death of 17-year-old Andrey Martinez, El Paso County Sheriff’s Office<\/a> spokesperson Priscilla I. Contreras said in a news release.<\/p>\n

Lee Armenta is being held on a $450,000 bond at the El Paso County Jail Annex, jail records showed on Sunday, Feb. 1. He is listed as Kelvin Lee on jail records.<\/p>\n

Limited details have been released on the fatal shooting as the investigation remains ongoing.<\/p>\n

Eduardo Solis, who is listed in court records as Lee Armenta’s attorney, could not immediately be reached for comment.<\/p>\n

Deputies responded to a welfare check in the Fabens area after receiving reports of a person “seeking help while covered in blood and possibly armed with a handgun,” the news release states.<\/p>\n

An investigation revealed Martinez was taken to Del Sol Medical Center with a gunshot wound. He died at the hospital.<\/p>\n

The Sheriff\u2019s Office Major Crimes Unit took over the investigation and determined Lee Armenta was a suspect in the shooting, the news release states.<\/p>\n

Lee Armenta was arrested on suspicion of murder and booked into the El Paso County Jail on Friday, Jan. 30.<\/p>\n
