<\/p>\n TYLER, TEXAS \u2013 UT Tyler Baseball capped off a perfect weekend with a 5\u20132 victory over Lubbock Christian in Sunday’s series finale, completing a three-game sweep of the Chaps. The Patriots scored all five runs across just two innings while combining solid pitching with an 11-hit offensive effort.<\/p>\n Returner Dylan Blomquist<\/a> made his first start of the season and was efficient early, facing the minimum in the opening inning after allowing a leadoff bunt single before picking the runner off at second. Blomquist worked three scoreless innings, allowing just two hits while striking out two before turning the game over to the bullpen.<\/p>\n Tyler Puckett<\/a> entered in the fourth and worked around a one-out single to keep the game scoreless, setting the stage for the Patriots’ offense to break through. UT Tyler struck first in the bottom of the fourth, collecting four consecutive hits. Drew Schmidt<\/a> sparked the rally with a one-out single and came around to score on a Cole Ketzner<\/a> double down the left-field line. Kaston Mason<\/a> followed with a single, and Tanner Hornback<\/a> drove in a run to give the Patriots a 2\u20130 lead.<\/p>\n Puckett continued to deal in the fifth and sixth innings, allowing no damage despite limited traffic on the bases. UT Tyler added to the lead in the sixth, as Brock Bearden<\/a> and Travis Bragg<\/a> singled before Luke Smith<\/a> drove in Bearden to make it 3\u20130. The Patriots later loaded the bases and pushed across two more runs, including one on a sacrifice fly, extending the lead to 5\u20130.<\/p>\n
