HOUSTON \u2013 Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff\u2019s Office are investigating a possible murder-suicide after a shooting in northeast Harris County that left one woman dead and a man hospitalized.<\/p>\n
The incident happened at a home on Cicada Lane near John F. Kennedy Boulevard. <\/p>\n
According to investigators, deputies were called to the scene after reports that a man had barricaded himself inside a bedroom with a woman believed to be his girlfriend.<\/p>\n
Authorities say several family members, including children, were inside the home when the situation unfolded. <\/p>\n
Deputies were able to safely remove everyone else from the house before attempting to make contact with the man inside the locked bedroom.<\/p>\n
SWAT was eventually called to the scene and forced entry into the room. <\/p>\n
Inside, investigators found the woman dead and the man suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. The man was taken to a nearby hospital and is expected to survive.<\/p>\n
Records show deputies had previously responded to the same address for a call involving terroristic threats about a year ago. <\/p>\n
Homicide and crime scene investigators remain at the home as the investigation continues. <\/p>\n
Deputies say both the man and woman lived at the residence. No charges have been filed at this time.<\/p>\n
