Much like waving your hands around a dog’s face, if you want to rile up a Lubbock music fan, you need only utter three words: “tacos,” “and,” “tequila.” The absolute disaster that was the never-materialized third installment of that local festival is a sore spot for many, and for good reason: many people had to fight tooth and nail to get a refund on the hefty ticket price after several “postponements” of the show.

Lubbock Deserves The Real Thing

And why oh why can’t we have this here? Hip hop shows in Lubbock are pure FUN- ask anyone who saw Bone Thug, Cypress Hill, and Ice Cube. That show was well attended with the most excellent vibes. It was honestly beautiful. We have venues. We have interest; we have a sizable college-kid population. I’m hoping someone steps up (a someone with integrity) and makes more events like these a reality in Lubbock.

In the meantime, you can catch the real deal in San Antonio (what a great town). More info here.
