The woman who died in a field<\/a> during the winter storm in Fort Worth<\/a> last week has been identified, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner\u2019s office.<\/p>\n

Geneva Pena Contreras, 68, died around 3:51 p.m. on a soccer field, according to the medical examiner\u2019s office.<\/p>\n

Fort Worth police officers were called to the 2900 block of E. Seminary Drive around 4:41 p.m. in reference to an unresponsive woman in a field, according to a previous statement.<\/p>\n

Emergency crews arrived at the scene, and Contreras was pronounced dead, police said. Her death is believed to be related to cold weather.<\/p>\n

During the last week of January, an arctic blast<\/a> hit Texas, bringing ice and bone-chilling temperatures. At least 12 people died across the state<\/a> \u2014 seven of those in North Texas \u2014 ranging in age from 6 to 78.<\/p>\n
