{"id":14973,"date":"2025-10-22T02:17:17","date_gmt":"2025-10-22T02:17:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/14973\/"},"modified":"2025-10-22T02:17:17","modified_gmt":"2025-10-22T02:17:17","slug":"elderly-man-dies-after-crashing-into-agency-in-east-el-paso","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/14973\/","title":{"rendered":"Elderly man dies after crashing into agency in East El Paso"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">EL PASO, Texas (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ktsm.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:KTSM;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">KTSM<\/a>) \u2014 A 78-year-old man has died after he crashed a vehicle into a staffing agency on Monday afternoon, Oct. 20, in East El Paso, according to El Paso Police.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\"><a class=\"link  yahoo-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/news\/articles\/1-person-hurt-car-gets-223341452.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:UPDATE: 1 person hurt when car gets airborne, crashes;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> UPDATE: 1 person hurt when car gets airborne, crashes <\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Police say they responded just after 3 p.m. at the intersection of Grover and Hawkins in reference to a vehicle crash.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Preliminary information revealed that Luis Hernandez Vasquez, 78, was traveling eastbound on Grover when he failed to stop at the intersection of Grover and Hawkins.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Vasquez continued eastbound and struck a curb along with a tree in the center median. Vasquez then crossed the northbound lanes of Hawkins and crashed into The Job Connection, a staffing agency at 1250 Hawkins.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Vasquez sustained serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital, where he later died, police said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Police did not say what caused Vasquez to crash into the business.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Police are still investigating the incident and say that this is the 52nd traffic fatality compared to 55 this same time last year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc.
