SAN ANTONIO \u2013 Dean DeSoto has been trying to track road rage in San Antonio for years. He said one of the latest cases, involving a 10-year-old girl being shot<\/a>, is a heartbreaking reminder of how dangerous the problem has become.<\/p>\n

\u201cA 10-year-old going to school should not be shot,\u201d DeSoto said. Road rage has \u201cno discrimination,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

KSAT first covered what the San Antonio Police Department called a fit of \u201croad rage\u201d on Friday morning<\/a>. Since then, KSAT has heard your concerns about aggressive drivers in the city. That\u2019s why we spoke to DeSoto, who is the executive director of the Community Alliance for Traffic Safety. He teaches classes to rehabilitate aggressive drivers.<\/p>\n

\u201cHow have you been shaping conversations in your classes since that happened?\u201d KSAT Reporter Avery Everett asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cAccountability and more strategies to enforce,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are so many possible triggers of road rage. What should drivers be looking out for?\u201d Everett asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnybody who\u2019s acting slightly erratically,\u201d DeSoto said. \u201cBecause a lot of this is the impulsive anger.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIs there something that drivers can do to minimize their risk of dealing with an aggressive driver or someone who might commit road rage?\u201d Everett asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, I would say one, be very observant,\u201d he said. \u201cTwo, you need to de-escalate any situation.\u201d<\/p>\n

KSAT checked back in with Jason Gates<\/a> to see how his daughter, Alisa Gates<\/a>, who was shot, was doing on Tuesday. He said she is out of surgery and getting better.<\/p>\n
