It\u2019s been the epicenter for cowboy culture since 1889, and this year, it celebrates its 136th birthday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">\u201cThe 136th year celebrated the Fort Worth Stockyards legacy as a symbol of Texas Western heritage and its continued evolution as a premier cultural and entertainment destination,\u201d said Dena Newell, director of marketing and tourism for the Stockyards. <\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">To celebrate the anniversary, the Stockyards is putting on a handful of events, many of which are family friendly. <\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">One place to find activities commemorating 136 of Stockyards is the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/things-to-do\/2026\/01\/07\/what-to-know-about-the-2026-fort-worth-stock-show-and-rodeo\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/things-to-do\/2026\/01\/07\/what-to-know-about-the-2026-fort-worth-stock-show-and-rodeo\/\">Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo<\/a>, taking place at Will Rogers Memorial Center and Dickies Arena until Feb. 7.
