Two Tarrant County Jail inmates are back in custody after escaping this week, according to the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office.<\/p>\n

The most recent escaped inmate was 26-year-old Victor Castillo who left a jail work detail in the 5400 block of Resource Drive in southeast Fort Worth Tuesday afternoon. Castillo was found in a dry riverbend and back in custody about 30 minutes after leaving, according to the sheriff’s office.<\/p>\n

Castillo was arrested in January and charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, jail records show.<\/p>\n

Another inmate, identified as 27-year-old Carlos Romero,\u00a0escaped while being transported<\/a>\u00a0Monday morning. He was found more than two hours later after a manhunt that involved multiple agencies, including the sheriff’s office and the Fort Worth Police Department.<\/p>\n

Jail records show Romero was arrested Dec. 4 on two counts of aggravated robbery and one count of tampering with a government school record, license, seal, or permit.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Records also show Romero had a court hearing Monday about an hour before he escaped.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Tarrant County Jail system is a highly secure environment,\u201d Sheriff Bill Waybourn said in a statement. \u201cWe are confident that the two recent incidents are isolated and not reflective of the overall safety, security, or daily operations of our facilities.\u201d<\/p>\n
