EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14\/CBS4) \u2014 A burglary response in El Paso turned violent when a suspect struck an officer with a vehicle. <\/p>\n
On Jan. 29, officers were dispatched to a burglary of a habitation in progress on the 10900 block of Yogi Berra Cir. <\/p>\n
Upon arrival, they approached a vehicle believed to be connected to the incident. <\/p>\n
The driver, identified as 21-year-old Angelo Ramon Zuniga, refused to comply with officers’ orders to turn off the vehicle, police officials said. <\/p>\n
Officials said Zuniga struck a 7-month veteran of the El Paso Police Department with the vehicle, causing minor injuries. <\/p>\n
The injured officer was transported to the hospital for treatment. <\/p>\n
Zuniga fled the scene but was later apprehended by the Lonestar Fugitive Task Force. <\/p>\n
He faces charges of two counts of aggravated assault against a public servant and evading arrest or detention with a vehicle. <\/p>\n
