frameworks for critical discourse. <\/p>\n<p>Harnessing oral histories, archives and producing publications on a variety of subjects including the effects of state-sanctioned violence, his work endures long after physical installations come to an end. <\/p>\n<p>Menj\u00edvar\u2019s latest exhibition, \u201cMurmurations,\u201d which opens this Friday at the Contemporary at Blue Star, functions like a mid-career survey, sampling the past 20 years of various long-term projects. <\/p>\n<p>Menj\u00edvar has presented his work at El Museo del Barrio (New York), Rothko Chapel (Houston), Eastern State Penitentiary (Philadelphia), the Cornell Lab of Ornithology (Ithaca), Bemis Center for Contemporary Art (Omaha), Contemporary Arts Museum Houston, The Puerto Rican Museum of Art and Culture (Chicago) and Sala Diaz (San Antonio), among other venues. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cMurmurations\u201d will run through Sunday, May 3. <\/p>\n<p>Free, opening reception 6-9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, noon-5
