ARLINGTON, Texas\u00a0\u2013 UT Arlington women’s basketball (8-13, 2-7 WAC) returns to College Park Center on Thursday,\u00a0Feb. 5, hosting\u00a0Utah Tech (6-14, 1-9 WAC)\u00a0as the Lady Mavericks come back home after a three-game road stint and look to bounce back with a win in front of the home crowd.<\/p>\n

Thursday’s matchup will be a celebration on multiple fronts, serving as\u00a0National Women in Sports Night\u00a0and\u00a0Alumni Night\u00a0at CPC. Former Lady Mavericks\u00a0are expected to be in attendance representing multiple eras of the program with the oldest alum dating back to\u00a01974\u00a0and the most recent from\u00a02014.<\/p>\n

UTA and Utah Tech meet for the\u00a0eighth\u00a0time, with the Mavericks holding a\u00a04-3\u00a0edge in the all-time series. The most recent meeting came on\u00a0Jan. 15, 2026, when UTA earned a\u00a064-56\u00a0win.\u00a0<\/p>\n

UTA continues to be paced by freshman standout\u00a0Kira Reynolds<\/a>, who leads the Mavericks in\u00a0scoring (11.7 ppg), rebounding (7.9\u00a0rpg), and blocks (2.7\u00a0bpg).\u00a0Nya Threatt<\/a>\u00a0paces the offense with\u00a02.7 assists per game\u00a0and is second on the team in scoring at\u00a09.4 \u00a0ppg, while\u00a0Kali Haizlip<\/a>\u00a0has been UTA’s top perimeter threat, shooting\u00a040.8%\u00a0from three on the season.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Defensively, the Mavericks continue to hang their hat on the perimeter, holding opponents to\u00a025.4%\u00a0from three first in the WAC\u00a0and\u00a0eighth nationally. Reynolds has also been a major piece of that identity, ranking\u00a0eighth nationally in total blocks (56)\u00a0and\u00a0seventh in blocks per game (2.67)\u00a0this season. Laura Bello<\/a> will also be a threat to watch on the glass, last week at Cal Baptist, Bello recorded a career high of 15-rebounds.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Utah Tech enters the week\u00a06-14 overall (1-9 WAC)\u00a0and averages\u00a061.2 points per game. The Trailblazers are led by\u00a0Kaylee Borden\u00a0(14.7 ppg) with\u00a0Brie Crittendon\u00a0controlling the glass at\u00a06.8 rpg\u00a0while adding\u00a08.6 ppg.\u00a0Chardonnay Hartley\u00a0pilots the offense with\u00a094 assists\u00a0on the season and chips in\u00a07.7 ppg.\u00a0<\/p>\n
