According to the state\u2019s acting comptroller, the application takes about 10 minutes to complete.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">What families will need:<\/p>\n<p>A valid ID<\/p>\n<p>Income documentation<\/p>\n<p>Student identification documents<\/p>\n<p>Documentation for special education services (if applicable)<\/p>\n<p>Why this information is required<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Kelly Hancock, Acting Comptroller of Texas, says income and special education status directly affects how applications are prioritized:<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">\u201cBasically an ID, and then because we are going to weight this based on income, so low income get preferential treatment, especially with special needs as well, don\u2019t need that information as well, both the information showing that there are special needs that need to be met, and then financial information as well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>How many schools can you apply for?<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Answer: Families may research multiple schools but can only apply for one school when submitting their voucher application.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Families are placed into a pool during the application window. And so the notification of that school that you\u2019ve selected is very important that you have that ongoing communication as well.
