Family-owned Southside restaurant expects big crowds, fresh food, and thousands of pounds of wings for football\u2019s biggest weekend \n<\/p>\n

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas \u2014 If wings are on your Super Bowl menu, local restaurant owners say this year\u2019s prices are bringing good news.<\/p>\n

Wingbar & Grill marketing, \u201cCoach Joe,\u201d says chicken wing costs have dropped compared to past football seasons, helping the Southside business prepare for a busy weekend.<\/p>\n

\u201cUsually during football season, wing prices go up, but right now we\u2019re seeing a low plateau,\u201d Martinez said. \u201cThat gives us more opportunity to serve great food to our local community.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to data from\u00a0Texas A&M AgriLife<\/a>, chicken wing prices are lower than they were at this time last year, a shift that could benefit both restaurants and fans hosting watch parties at home.<\/p>\n

Coach Joe said Wing Bar & Grill is stocking up to meet demand, going through thousands of pounds of chicken each month.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe usually average about 8,000 pounds of chicken a month,\u201d he said. \u201cWe\u2019re making sure we\u2019re ready for people hosting parties at home or coming in to watch the game here.\u201d<\/p>\n

The restaurant emphasizes fresh, made-to-order food during one of its busiest times of the year.<\/p>\n

\u201cNothing\u2019s just coming out frozen,\u201d Martinez said. \u201cEverything\u2019s prepared here with love.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wing Bar & Grill is a family-owned business that has operated in the community for about 20 years, offering wings, burgers, and other game-day favorites.<\/p>\n

During a live morning visit, 3NEWS Lexis Green summed up the game-day mood. \u201cIt might be 5 a.m., but it\u2019s never too early for good wings,\u201d Green said.<\/p>\n
