EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14\/CBS4) \u2014 A 78-year-old man died after his car crashed into a building in East El Paso on Monday afternoon. <\/p>\n

According to the El Paso Police Department, Luis Hernandez Vasquez died from the injuries he sustained after the 2008 Nissan Sentra he was driving ran a stop sign, hit a center median on Grover and Hawkins which sent the vehicle flying and crashing into a building.<\/p>\n

Police said Vasquez was taken to the hospital by emergency services; however, some time later, the medical examiner’s office called investigators to let them know that Vasquez had succumbed to his injuries.<\/p>\n

According to police statistics, this is the 52nd traffic death of 2025, compared to 55 this same time last year.<\/p>\n

No word yet on what caused Vasquez to blow past the stop sign and crash.<\/p>\n

Police said the investigation continues. <\/p>\n
