The weather in Dallas has finally decided to behave—and nobody seems more excited about it than Alex Drummond! After a stretch of snow, ice, and below-freezing forecasts that make Texans stare out the window with despair, she popped onto Instagram with a little reminder of what winter is *supposed* to feel like down there.

In a recent Instagram story, Alex shared a sunny snapshot from a neighborhood walk: George, her fluffy golden retriever, posted up politely at the edge of the road like he’s waiting for someone to compliment him. (Consider this a compliment, George!) The sky is bright, the grass is winter-yellow instead of snow-covered, and everything just looks calm again. Not a slippery sidewalk in sight!

Over the photo, Alex wrote, “Now this is the Texas winter we signed up for!” and then, in big, glorious numbers: 66°F.

If you’ve followed Alex for any amount of time, you know she/s a daily-walk kind of gal. Getting some fresh air with baby Sofia and George is one of her favorite parts of her routine—and an absolutely necessary way to get out of the house! Now that she’s juggling life a toddler (and keeping up with George’s very important sniff-and-stroll schedule), those walks are basically a non-negotiable. That is, until the weather turns their neighborhood into a full-on icy obstacle course. So lately, it’s been more cozy days at home and cold-weather comfort food (hello, hamburger soup) while Dallas gave everyone a real taste of winter.

But now? It’s back to sunshine, sidewalk strolls, and a happy dog who looks like he’s ready for spring. And we’re sure that Sofia is smiling right along with him!
