LAS CRUCES, NM –\u00a0The UT Arlington softball team opens the 2026 campaign on the road with a jam-packed opening weekend, traveling to Mexico and El Paso for a five-game slate against New Mexico State, UMass Lowell and UTEP. The Mavericks will hit the ground running on opening day with a Friday doubleheader, beginning with a 1 p.m. CT matchup against UMass Lowell before closing the day against host NM State at 7 p.m. — #BuckEm \u2013<\/p>\n \nFOLLOW THE MAVS

\nUTA enters the new season building off a competitive 2025 campaign (24-25) that featured key growth performances. After earning third in the WAC Preseason Poll and earning two all-WAC preseason selections in Mia McNulty<\/a> and Kailee Bautista<\/a>, the Mavericks have a greatly anticipated season awaiting them, as they return 12 players and add eight newcomers. \u00a0<\/p>\n

\nUTA will then travel 50 minutes down I-10 to El Paso on Saturday for a doubleheader against UTEP, with first pitch set for noon CT followed by a 3 p.m. contest.

\nThe weekend concludes back in Las Cruces on Sunday afternoon as the Mavericks face NM State in a final showdown at 1 p.m.
