Wild behavior at San Antonio bar Elsewhere Too<\/a> has prompted a quick policy change. The newly opened entertainment venue will now limit family-friendly hours to before 8 pm after minors allegedly trashed the grounds during its debut week.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere Too was intended to be family-friendly, with features like games, a 42-foot curved flower tunnel, and a 52-foot Ferris wheel. But following its rocky start after it first opened<\/a> on October 4, the team was forced to issue an impassioned plea.<\/p>\n

“Elsewhere Too was built to inspire wonder, not to be destroyed,” the bar wrote<\/a>. “In just one week, we’ve seen lights ripped apart, rocks thrown, and items tossed from the Ferris wheel. This behavior is dangerous, disrespectful, and unacceptable.”<\/p>\n

Many of the bar’s fans chimed in to say the bar should be 21-plus, saying that the unsupervised youth killed the overall vibe for adults. Fellow business owners empathized with the pain of having to parent strangers’ kids.<\/p>\n

“EVERY parent swears they aren’t ‘that’ parent, but as a business owner who doesn’t operate a playground, I’ve had to tell one too many children to not stand on planters, jump from table top to table top, don’t throw the rocks, don’t dig in the gravel surrounding the pavers, don’t throw rocks, don’t hang on the signage, the signage isn’t a toy, etc.,” shared the owners of Boerne’s Blithe Creamery.<\/p>\n

The compromise solution still allows children to roam the grounds during mostly daylight hours, when parents can keep a closer eye and, presumably, have had less to drink. Elsewhere Too’s management promised a more mature atmosphere in the late hours.<\/p>\n

“When the clock hits 8, the lights glow brighter, the beats get louder, and the vibe turns from playground to party,” they announced<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Being the internet, there was some typical squabbling, both from parents disagreeing with the change and from folks who thought a 7 pm cut-off was more appropriate. But the majority felt the move accommodated most of the Elsewhere Too’s fans.<\/p>\n

“Solid move,” read one comment, capturing the prevailing mood.<\/p>\n
