Plano<\/a> has been a place of comfort, a spot where the morning sun filters through the trees and routines feel familiar.<\/p>\nBut for the past few weeks, one basic necessity has been missing.<\/p>\n
Cox lives at the Bellevue Spring Creek Apartments, where he said residents have gone more than two weeks without reliable hot water, a problem that\u2019s turned everyday tasks into daily frustrations.<\/p>\n
Turn on the faucet, and the issue becomes obvious.<\/p>\n
\u201cHot water sanitizes \u2026 and we don\u2019t have that,\u201d Cox said.<\/p>\n
Without it, residents say simple routines like bathing and doing laundry have become difficult especially during colder weather.<\/p>\n
A thermometer test showed water temperatures never reached a true hot setting.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s about as hot as it gets right there,\u201d Cox said.<\/p>\n
The apartment complex said the problem began just before the recent winter storm.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s annoying,\u201d Cox said. \u201cYou know, we can\u2019t live like this.\u201d<\/p>\n
A spokesperson for ValCap Group LLC, the property management company, told WFAA that aging boilers are the root of the issue. The company said both boilers are now being fully replaced and that they are working with the City of Plano, with repairs expected to begin this week.<\/p>\n
For Cox, that update brings some cautious optimism.<\/p>\n
\u201cBeing the city got involved with it, and you\u2019re here, I think it\u2019s great,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
