Theft of property <\/p>\n
On Jan. 23, a student reported the theft of cash from his dorm room, UTA Police Capt. Mike McCord said in an email. <\/p>\n
Theft of property valued between $100 and $750 is a class B misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $2,000, confinement in jail for up to 180 days or both. <\/p>\n
The case is still active. <\/p>\n
Criminal mischief <\/p>\n
On Jan. 29, a student reported a broken window and damaged blinds, McCord said. <\/p>\n
Criminal mischief with a pecuniary loss between $750 and $2,500 is a class A misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $4,000, confinement in jail for up to one year or both. <\/p>\n
The case is still active. <\/p>\n
On Jan. 29, a faculty member reported two damaged signs, McCord said. <\/p>\n

On Jan. 29, officers investigated an odor of marijuana, McCord said. A student was issued a citation for possession of a vape device by a minor. <\/p>\n
A minor caught in possession of tobacco products is subject to a fine of up to $100. <\/p>\n
Possession of marijuana <\/p>\n
On Jan. 31, officers investigated a report of the odor of marijuana, McCord said. Officers arrested a student for possession of marijuana. The student was transported to Arlington Police Department jail. <\/p>\n
Possession of marijuana of two ounces or less is a class B misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $2,000, up to 180 days in jail or both. <\/p>\n
