(Arlington, Texas<\/a>) Another milestone has been reached as construction continues on the world record-breaking dive roller coaster at Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The skyline, midway between Dallas<\/a> and Fort Worth<\/a>, has been forever changed thanks to Tormenta Rampaging Run. The new world record-setting roller coaster is being constructed at Six Flags Over Texas<\/a>. The world’s first and only giga dive coaster reached another milestone yesterday and has set a new record for the world’s tallest roller coaster vertical loop.<\/p>\n

\"EastConstruction Milestones and Celebration<\/p>\n

The vertical loop on this new, stunning coaster is an 18-story, 179-foot steel loop. The completion of Tormenta Rampaging Run’s vertical loop was met with celebration and fanfare. Six Flags Over Texas<\/a> lit up the vertical loop with red lights Thursday night, giving those who enjoy roller coasters a look at what’s to come later this year.<\/p>\n

This isn’t the only record the yet-to-open roller coaster has achieved so far. Tormenta Rampaging Run has already met these records:<\/p>\n

Tallest dive coaster – standing 309 feet – nearly 31 storiesHighest 95 degree beyond vertical drop at 285 feetHighest Immelmann inversion at 218 feetWhat\u2019s Next for This Historic Ride<\/p>\n

Add the latest record of the tallest vertical coaster loop at 179 feet to that list; there are just two records left to be conquered. When completed, the coaster will hold the records for fastest dive coaster at 87 miles per hour and longest dive coaster with 4,199 feet of track.<\/p>\n

It’s not a coincidence that the new roller coaster is breaking six world records; after all, it is being constructed at the original Six Flags theme park. No opening date has been set for the opening of Tormenta Rampaging Run.<\/p>\n

Six Flags Over Texas 65th Anniversary<\/p>\n

In addition, Six Flags Over Texas will be celebrating its 65th anniversary this year. Gates to the park will open<\/a> on this historic year, Saturday, February 28, at 11 a.m.<\/p>\n
