The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service<\/a> will host a CenterPoint Accounting for Agriculture Training on March 3 in Lubbock and March 10 in Canyon.<\/p>\n

The March 3 training will be at the Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center at Lubbock<\/a>, 1102 E. Farm-to-Market Road 1294. In Canyon, the training will be at the new Texas A&M AgriLife High Plains Research and Extension Center<\/a>, 3211 Russell Long Blvd.<\/a><\/p>\n

The meeting at each location will begin at 9 a.m. and end at 4 p.m. The cost of the program is $50. Those planning to attend in Lubbock should register online<\/a> by March 1, and in Canyon, register online<\/a> by March 8. Each class is limited to 15 individuals to allow hands-on instruction.<\/p>\n

CenterPoint is an accounting software for agricultural businesses. This training helps farmers and ranchers improve their financial recordkeeping and analysis for better management decisions, said DeDe Jones, AgriLife Extension risk management program specialist in the Texas A&M Department of Agricultural Economics<\/a>, Canyon.<\/p>\n

On the agenda<\/p>\n

The course will be taught by Jones and Will Keeling, AgriLife Extension risk management program specialist in the Department of Agricultural Economics, Lubbock, and Brenda Heymer, CPA and owner of Heymer Management Accounting Services, Amarillo.<\/p>\n

During the program, attendees will:<\/p>\n

Learn the fundamentals of CenterPoint.<\/p>\n

Become familiar with accounting transactions.<\/p>\n

Improve recordkeeping and analysis capabilities.<\/p>\n
