Box Score<\/a> OREM, Utah \u2013\u00a0UT Arlington men’s basketball (14-9, 6-5 WAC) fell by an 81-60 final score at Utah Valley (18-6, 8-3 WAC) on Saturday afternoon at UCCU Arena. The victory was UVU’s school-record 24th consecutive at home since a loss to UTA on March 2, 2024.

\nUVU led by 11, 42-31, at intermission after shooting nearly 60 percent from the floor (14 of 24). The Wolverines made five 3-pointers in the stanza, more than the Mavericks, the nation’s top 3-point defensive team in the country, allows per game. Utah Valley closed the half with an 8-2 run over the final two minutes.

\nThe Mavs scored the first four points out of halftime to cut the deficit to seven, but UVU followed with a 10-0 run on the strength of back-to-back 3-pointers by Tyler Hendricks, who finished with a team-high 18 points and made four of the Wolverines’ 11 threes.

\nGuard Tyran Mason<\/a> continued his strong performance on the trip with a game-high and career-best 20 points off the bench. He was the only Maverick in double figures. UTA had 15 turnovers after totaling just eight on Thursday night.

\nUTA connected on seven of its first eight shots from the floor, but despite the hot shooting the game was tied 16-16, nine minutes in. Six different Mavericks dented the scoring column during that span.

\nThe Mavs will complete their three-game WAC road swing Thursday, Feb. 12, at Abilene Christian (10-12, 2-7 WAC). That game tips off at 8 p.m. CT from Moody Coliseum in Abilene, Texas, and will be broadcast live on ESPNU<\/a> and on the radio on the Varsity Network App with the Voice of the Mavs, Josh Sours.
