Champions were crowned during the final performance of the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo’s ProRodeo tournament. While prize money is earned in individual rounds throughout the two-week-long event, the top prizes are awarded to each event’s champion. In all, the historic rodeo doled out more than $1.3 million in added money this year, one of the richest rodeos in the country.<\/p>\n
Here were the champions, their event-clinching score or time, and how much they earned in Fort Worth, according to the Stock Show<\/a>:<\/p>\n Bareback riding:\u00a0Tilden Hooper, 92, $27,418<\/p>\n Steer wrestling: (tie) Bridger Anderson, 3.8, $24,042 and Trisyn Kalawaia, Hilo Hawaii, 3.8 $21,760<\/p>\n Breakaway Roping: Jill Tanner, 2.0 seconds, $27,308<\/p>\n Saddle Bronc Riding:\u00a0(tie) Rusty Wright, 91, $24,617, and Darcy Radel, 91, $21,435<\/p>\n Tie-Down Roping:\u00a0Kincade Henry, 7.5 seconds, $27,517<\/p>\n Team Roping:\u00a0Corben Culley and Trent Vaught, 5.4 seconds, $26,400 each<\/p>\n Barrel Racing: Kassie Mowry, 16.04*, $25,500<\/p>\n Bull Riding: Trey Kimzey, 88.5, $27,400<\/p>\n Billy and Pam Minick All-Around Award: Payden Bray, Stephenville, Texas, $5,675<\/p>\n Of course, the rodeo athletes weren’t the only ones taking home a nice paycheck from the Stock Show events. Hood County teen Caiman Cody, of Tolar, won the Stock Show’s Grand Champion Steer award<\/a> for his steer named White Castle.
